Interiors Of Instagram: The Kitchen

This week, I’ve found myself liking many a kitchen pic on Instagram. Below are my selection of the best, ranging from Scandinavian modern (they do tend to nail kitchens) to a bit of farmhouse-style (don’t worry, nothing shabby chic).

I found this kitchen on one of my favourite Instagrammers, Lily & Oscar Interior. Always focused on Scandinavian-modern designs of top quality, I love how their industrial pendant lamps have been juxtaposed against decadent wall mouldings behind. A bold choice.

Styling The Kitchen: Oriental Contemporary

I have a problem when choosing tablewares: I love natural, hand-thrown studio pottery on the one hand, while on the other I am drawn to pattern and colour. It can be hard to pull both of these together into a cohesive look. But this is where Eastern style tablewares are perfect; the pattern and vibrancy can be drawn from the Middle East and China, whereas simplicity and a rustic-quality can be drawn from Japan.

The cultures of the Middle and Far East each have unique approaches to porcelain and pottery and with it different concepts of beauty.

I love a man with a good sense of humour. And it helps if he has a classy streak too. Think of these traits, then think of silver and you have Alberto Alessi.

For so long I have been aware of the company from this classic lady.
